Easter Week arrives and along with it come magnificent Easter holidays for the little ones at home. There is no school to attend, and they enjoy a few days free from classes or homework, ready to squeeze the most from these days playing and having a great time.

But sometimes we run out of ideas and we don't know what else to play, which activities to prepare or which stories to tell. In relation to this beautiful springtime occasion, we bring you a delicious activity for children at Easter to do as a family: the Easter Egg Hunt.

What does it consist of?

The Easter Egg Hunt is a typical tradition in the United Kingdom. This activity can be done outdoors or inside the house (the cold or rain cannot stop us!) and it involves hiding eggs in the garden or inside the house. Once hidden, the kids must follow clues to search for Easter eggs until they find them. Normally a basket is used to place the eggs discovered. Once they have all of them, we can give different prizes based on the number of eggs they have found in total, the number of eggs of a specific colour, or based on size.

Which Easter eggs do we use?

For our Egg Hunt, we can use different Easter eggs:

1. Chocolate eggs. A delicious, fun, and colourful option. 2. Decorated eggs. If you are really handy with crafts and your children are too, this option is for you. Use eggs (you can cook them before and make them hard-boiled) and paint them. Make your imagination fly with this activity and then play the Easter Egg Hunt. It's a 2-in-1 activity!

3. Paper eggs. The most DIY idea to create Easter eggs. Cut different spring-coloured cards in the shape of eggs, fold them in half and staple them; then open all the tabs. Voilà! Now you have a colourful paper egg to play the Easter Egg Hunt!
