As the cold weather arrives, we dream of a comforting and appetising hot chocolate in our hands to warm us up. For some, this moment of comfort and enjoyment comes on a Sunday afternoon as a ritual, with your favourite playlist playing in the background or complementing one of those books that you just can't put down; for others it is to enjoy it after lunch, sharing quality time with family while the smell of chocolate fills the whole house.

How to make a good hot chocolate?
Whether you like it thicker or more liquid, making a perfect hot chocolate is not complicated, you just need to use high-quality ingredients and follow a few simple steps. Here is a step-by-step guide to ensure that your hot chocolate is a delight for all your senses.

1. For one serving, heat 100ml of water or milk.

2. Once it's hot, add 50g of chocolate and start stirring.

3. Bring it to the boil while stirring until you get the desired texture.

4. Serve it in your favourite mug and enjoy a velvety hot chocolate in a cup.

If you want to prepare the recipe for more people, just multiply the quantities by the number of cups you want to prepare.

Our tips

  • If you make it with water, you will get a hot chocolate with a more intense cocoa flavour. If you make it with milk, you will get a chocolate with a smoother taste.

  • If you add more water or milk, you will get a more liquid chocolate. If you add more chocolate, the chocolate will be thicker.

  • If you want to make a quick hot chocolate, we have good news for you: you can also make it in the microwave! Heat a cup with 100ml of water or milk, melt the chocolate and stir. Heat again until it boils and the chocolate rises. Remove the cup and repeat the process until you get the texture you want.

Our "chocolate a la piedra" contains a high cocoa percentage and is available in 4 different varieties: 45% cocoa with cinnamon, 60% cocoa with cinnamon, 60% cocoa with vanilla and 70% cocoa with chilli and pepper.
